Who's Tom Johnson?
Tom is a native of Post Falls and the owner of GarageTown in the Mill River development. He and his wife, Cyndie, have three children.

The Johnson family...Tom, Cyndie and their children Desiree, Aubree and Jordan have always lived an active lifestyle and North Idaho has provided the perfect backdrop for that way of life. Tom and the family also enjoy dining out, at least twice a week by his estimate. One local landmark restaurant came to the forefront when the local builder was narrowing down a favorite.

Tony's Supper Club, just a few miles east of Silver Beach, has been a Coeur d'Alene staple for over half a century. It's also a great place all year ‘round.

"The location- being able to boat to it in the summer and enjoy the beautiful view while dining," answers Tom when asked to list favorite features.

The Johnsons take a short drive on Lake Coeur d'Alene Drive the rest of the year. Tom enjoys the casual and comfortable environment with a staff that's not only friendly but dedicated to personal attention.

"It's fun and energetic," he says. And the fact that they always seem to remember everyone's name scores big with the whole family.

Originally owned by and named for Tony Canerio, the establishment was the after-church or date night place to go for the best spaghetti this side of Rome. Now owners Paul and Bonnie D'Alessandro and their daughter, Cheyanne, who is an Italian-trained chef, are continuing the Canerio's tradition of fine Italian-inspired cuisine. Paul's grandparents emigrated from Tuscany in the early 1900s and passed on their love of cooking.

The Chef's Table with its granite top and proximity to the action in a busy kitchen is a special treat, as are the creative after-dinner libations prepared by popular bartender, Hadley Long.

"One of the best menu items is the filetto," Tom noted about the grilled sirloin brushed with a balsamic glaze. The menu also includes Tony's signature pastas...spaghetti, lasagna, manacotti and rigatoni.

Dinner on the lake is a four-season family affair with the D'Alessandros at Tony's.
