Who's Jaime Johnson?

Jaime has lived in the area for 25 years and has over ten years experience in wedding and event planning.

Not many local eateries offer a front row view of the Coeur d'Alene Resort, the lake and the laid back but energetic bustle of the heart of the city. Most days patrons seated at the upstairs window tables can watch seaplanes take off and land and the departures and arrivals of the cruise boats from Independence Point. But it's the comings and goings inside that draw Jaime Johnson to Bonsai Bistro. "It's a great place to meet up with a group of friends," she observed.

Well known as a top wedding planner for premiere resorts in the Coeur d'Alene and Spokane area, Jaime has branched out on her own with Jaime Johnson Events. As a young entrepreneur, she recognizes the importance of networking and being in the hub of the action. At Bonsai Bistro the lunch crowd often includes the movers and shakers of Coeur d'Alene.

Dinner is casually elegant and with private dining in the Chef's Table room, business meetings and social functions are both well-served. The entire Pan-Asian menu is available for "wok up" or delivery...dockside, home or to the office.

The staff of Bonsai Bistro loves what they do and take pride in providing an out-of-the-ordinary culinary experience. Jaime points out, "the staff is very friendly and know how to have fun."

Chef Troy Louis Chandler is also the general manager of the bistro and has created signature dishes such as the Vietnamese salt and pepper prawns, a house favorite. Jaime's choices are the sushi, wok seared lettuce wraps and pad tai. While she enjoys Mongolian beef, vegetarians are easily accommodated with tofu substitutions.

"There's an interesting sake bar and wonderful wine selections, giving you the perfect drink for every meal," said Jaime.

Service Manager Tamara Dickerson recommends Bonsai's sushi-grade selections for enjoyment at the sushi bar, which seats up to ten. "The sushi is phenomenal!" claims Jaime. Their commitment is to serve only the best so the Bonsai staff receives regular deliveries of the freshest fish via Southwest Airlines. Dickerson also enjoys seeing the number of youngsters who are developing a taste and appreciation of the unique and healthy cuisine when dining with their parents. The downstairs koi pond is another popular feature, providing a soothing backdrop for the diners seated there.

For Jaime Johnson and those who've already discovered Bonsai Bistro, it really is the best of several worlds.
