Steve Griffitts is man whose job
involves keeping secrets. As
president of Jobs Plus, he’s
involved in confidential
negotiations with small businesses
and large corporations all over the
country who are considering setting
up shop in Kootenai County. So
convincing him to share a favorite
eatery that’s not widely known is a
coup. Steve tells us that The Yellow
House in Hayden is a great place for
a business lunch or to take his
family; which includes wife,
Marilyn, four children and five
grandkids. He’s been a customer of
the quaint Hayden business for about
three years.
"I love the service and
personality of the place, it’s out
of the norm," says Steve.
In an area replete with 5-star
cuisine, novelty themes and power
lunching places to be seen, it makes
sense that the dynamic Mr. Griffitts
discovered a place that’s the polar
opposite to get away from it all.
The Yellow House is a cake and
pie bakery serving limited lunches.
When not creating custom-ordered
special occasion cakes and pies, the
owners make just-as-special soups,
salads and sandwiches for their
customers.
Steve’s enthusiastic about his
favorite sandwich ... turkey with
cranberries, although he seems
hesitant to confess a weakness for
The Yellow House’s éclair pie. "I
know I shouldn’t but it’s so good,"
he said.
Your secret’s safe with us,
Steve.
