Who's Rose Backs?
Rose is co-owner of MR. Auction and a licensed Realtor. She and Matt are the only husband/wife team to simultaneously make the finals in the International Auctioneering Championships.

As one of the top auctioneers in the country, Rose Backs travels more than most people. And specializing in benefit auctions she’s no stranger to the finest venues and menus. So when there’s time for a local lunch with friends or a night out with her husband and fellow auctioneer, Matt, Rose likes to keep it simple at Moon Time in Coeur d’Alene.

“I enjoy the atmosphere and the food is always great,” she says. She’s a big fan of the signature Moon Burger, declaring it the best burger in town and ideal for lunch or dinner. For the adventurous Moon Time also serves a Mediterranean lamb burger.

“I’m generally a red wine drinker but something about being inside this restaurant motivates me to drink beer,” laughs Rose.

The east Sherman Avenue pub features twenty micro brews on tap and another twenty-plus selections of bottled beer along with a surprisingly eclectic wine list. The menu also includes some unique delights. Their roasted garlic custard with caramelized onions is served warm with tortilla chips and Ancho chili sauce. Daily specials for lunch and dinner are truly special. For dessert the Moon Unit brownie ala mode is popular, as well.

“Moon Time is a place I feel good about taking out-of-towners when they want local fare,” according to Rose. She likes the creative wainscoted walls and wonders if “anything crazy has gone on behind those doors.”
