Who's Steve Anthony?

Steve is a life long resident of Coeur d'Alene. He has two children, three step-children and three grandchildren.

Steve Anthony is a Coeur d'Alene native, known to a couple of generations of youngsters as the Recreation Director for the City of Coeur d'Alene. In 1992 Steve and his now wife of 14 years, Robin, had their first date at The Cedars Floating Restaurant and the couple continues to enjoy the unique local favorite. Steve points out that the "wavy" road leading to the Cedars on Blackwell Island is an experience in itself.

During the summer months the Anthonys spend many sunny Sunday afternoons on the outdoor deck for appetizers and dessert. Throughout the year The Cedars is a destination for special occasions and quiet dinners for two.

Steve says, "Our out of town quests love the view and that the restaurant is located on the lake." Even when snow is falling.

Robin Anthony loves the Wild Alaskan Salmon dishes and Steve regularly orders the prime rib. They both rave about the salad bar and what they describe as the best clam chowder in the area.

"The staff is very friendly and the service excellent," says Steve, appreciating the leisurely, casual elegance of the restaurant.

General Manager John Malee has high praise for Chef Miles Boggio's culinary skills and vision to create a menu that includes renowned seafood and signature aged prime rib, steaks and chops. Add a superb selection of fine wines and to-die-for handcrafted desserts, and Malee knows he has a tradition to uphold with The Cedars. The backside of the dinner menu is a fun read of trivia and history of the 41-year-old establishment that is still "bobbing contentedly" where the Spokane River flows from Lake Coeur d'Alene. The views are breathtaking from the outdoor terrace or from the rustic wood-beamed main dining room.

You don't have to be a lifelong resident of the Coeur d'Alene area or celebrating a special occasion to enjoy what has long been one of the top dining experiences in the City by the Lake.
